ORDER PICKING AND DESPATCH

An efficient, automated picking and despatch routine within your warehouse can help increase the number of orders your warehouse is able to despatch each day, whilst maintaining very high levels of accuracy. Using our many years of experience in the warehouse and distribution sector, the Dexterity pick engine has been specifically designed to guide operators around the warehouse, to pick stock in the most efficient manner possible.

Pick routines can be designed to consider a number of industry specific and best warehouse practise factors, including FIFO (first in first out) for goods with expiration dates, serial numbers or batch numbers, especially relevant to those in the FMCG, pharmaceuticals and medical device industries. If an item is assigned a specific pick routine, the data capture device will not allow operators to deviate from this, removing problems later down the line.

Workers will be guided to locations by your chosen data capture device, and asked to confirm both the location and product by scanning the associated barcode, eliminating incorrectly picked products, improving customer satisfaction levels and reducing the cost of handling returns. Pick Lists, Pack Lists and Despatch Notes can be printed via the Desktop Client but can also be viewed or downloaded as a PDF, should you wish to email the customer or save a copy for future reference. 

CARRIER INTEGRATION

Dexterity WMS offers integration into your current / future carriers, allowing users to create consignments using the data captured within Dexterity and therefore reducing the manual data entry in separate systems. 

 

The creation of consignments through your carrier is performed using the mobile device and typically used on the warehouse floor in real-time to reduce the time required for processing. Some carriers require a detailed breakdown of the consignment including parcel weights and dimensions whilst others simply require the total number of pieces and the consignment weight. For this reason, Dexterity WMS can offer the user either input option, depending on the carriers requirements. The process can be made even more seamless with the use of mobile printers, which can be used to print carrier labels at the point of despatch, rather than using a static printer. This speeds up the whole process and further eliminates the possibility of mis-labelling, if multiple carrier labels are printed at the same time.

PROOF OF DELIVERY RETRIEVAL

Dexterity WMS allows you to retrieve Proof Of Delivery information from dispatched orders, so that your Sales or Customer Services team can provide customers with a POD without having to log in to the carrier's website. 

HARDWARE OPTIONS

Dexterity WMS runs on the latest Android data capture hardware and supports the latest in thermal printing technology from industry leaders including Zebra Technologies, Honeywell. Sato and Datalogic.
