WMS Goods Receiving

Dexterity WMS provides a real-time solution for the receipt of products into the warehouse using delivery notes, EDI or standard Receiving Orders. The receiving process automates and validates the receipt of goods against an EDI or purchase order.

Dexterity WMS application software allows the user to enter details of new Receiving Orders including:

• Order Number
• Order Date
• Vendor Details
• Product Lines and Quantities Ordered

Receiving Options
There are several options which will determine how the system handles receiving orders and transactions on the RF Portable Terminal:

• Auto Close Receiving Orders: The system will automatically close the order when all order lines and quantities are received and complete.
  
• Prompt for Location: The system will prompt for the location during the receiving process. Operations with multiple receiving bays could use this feature.
  
• Allow over Receiving: The system will allow the user to receive more of an item than is on the order.
  
• Cross-Dock Check during Putaway process: During the Putaway process the user is alerted if the item is required to fulfil an outstanding shipping order. This saves time, rather than locating the item in the warehouse it can be routed straight to the shipping area.
  
• Default Receiving Location: Many warehouse operations receive goods into a “receiving area” prior to Putaway. This simplifies the receiving process for the operator as the RF portable only asks for the item and quantity received, the received items are automatically booked into the default location. The location is also used for the Putaway process.
  
• Create Pallet ID on Receipt: The system can be configured to automatically generate and print a unique pallet ID barcoded label on good receipt if your suppliers do not already deliver with one. This enables the easy location and tracking of palletised goods throughout the system.
